Understanding the Power of Sound Healing


Sound healing is an ancient practice that has been rediscovered as a powerful tool for cellular and psychological healing. At its core is the principle of resonance—the idea that each system in our body has a unique frequency. When stress, trauma, or toxins disrupt our natural vibrations, our body’s communication breaks down, leading to imbalance. Sound healing works by restoring harmony, allowing our cells to realign and function at their best.


Scientific evidence already supports sound’s ability to heal. It’s used in medical treatments, such as breaking up kidney stones and shrinking tumors. Beyond the physical, sound healing activates the parasympathetic nervous system, shifting us from fight-or-flight mode into a state of relaxation and restoration.



The Science Behind Sound and Frequency


Every cell in our body emits and absorbs sound frequencies, influencing our overall health and emotional state. Disruptive frequencies, caused by emotional distress or environmental toxins, create “energetic leaks” that interfere with our well-being. However, sound healing uses frequencies to wake up dormant cells and reestablish internal communication, restoring balance.


Cymatics, the study of how vibrations affect visible matter, further explains this process. Research shows that high sound frequencies create beautiful mandala-like patterns in water. Since our bodies are over 60% water, these vibrations profoundly impact cellular function and energy flow.



Raising Your Vibration for Healing and Growth


The energy we emit attracts similar frequencies. If we vibrate at the frequency of anger, grief, or resentment, we draw more of those experiences into our lives. Change doesn’t happen through desire alone—it requires action.


Healing often feels uncomfortable before it feels better. When I became sober, I faced moments of deep loneliness, making it tempting to return to old patterns. That’s why practices like sound healing, Reiki, journaling, gratitude, and meditation are essential—they help us raise our energetic frequency and shift our reality.



Finding Stillness Through Sound


Meditation and sound healing offer ways to quiet the mental clutter and reach a “still point.” This isn’t about silence—because silence, in the absolute sense, doesn’t exist. Even in the quietest places, a frequency continuously vibrates around and within us. Sound healing shifts our brainwaves from beta to theta, helping us reconnect with our inner wisdom and the universal energy that surrounds us.


By tuning into this energy, we realize that we are not alone. We are part of a spiritual network that connects us to the earth, each other, and the divine—however you define that. Love, which exists at the highest frequency, is always present but speaks softly. In contrast, fear and negativity are loud and disruptive, making them seem more dominant. The key is learning to tune into love’s frequency despite the surrounding noise.



My Personal Journey to Healing


For years, I lived disconnected from my body, ignoring the signals it sent me. I drowned out my inner voice with distractions—alcohol, cigarettes, unhealthy relationships. These behaviors were ways to cope with unresolved trauma and unhealed grief, but they also kept me stuck in a low vibrational cycle.


I reestablished communication between my mind, body, and soul through sound healing and other holistic practices. I learned that healing is not about suppressing pain but allowing it to be transmuted into wisdom. My story, which I share in my book Wild Moon Healing, is one of transformation—a journey from disconnection to wholeness.
