5 Bridges of Healing: How They Carry Us Forward

They say never burn your bridges. Why? Because once the bridge is gone, so are the possibilities on the other side. In life, that can be good or bad. In healing, though, bridges aren’t just metaphors—they’re lifelines. They are what carry us from where we are to where we want to be.
At Wild Moon Healers, I often talk about bridges. Why? Because every transformation, every moment of healing, is a crossing. Without bridges, we stay stuck on one side of ourselves—longing for change, but never reaching it. With bridges, we can move forward into a life of alignment, wholeness, and truth.
There are five core bridges in my work:
The heart center
The breath
The waxing cycle of the moon
The understanding of trust
The vagus nerve
Each one offers a pathway between what you know now and who you are becoming.
The 5 Bridges of Healing
To turn awareness into attunement, alignment, and embodiment, you need a bridge. These sacred spaces are where your body can release tension, your nervous system can downshift, and your soul can reconnect with its truth.
This isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about cultivating a deeper awareness—emotional, energetic, and spiritual—that enables you to navigate life with clarity, compassion, and courage.
Bridge #1: The Heart Center
The heart chakra is perhaps the most profound bridge of all. It connects:
Your inner world with your outer world
Your lower three chakras (physical, survival, identity) with your upper three chakras (vision, expression, spirit)
Your mental health and your spiritual awareness
When your heart center is open and aligned, you experience balance: compassion, empathy, forgiveness, and the ability to connect deeply—with yourself and others. Healing through the heart isn’t just about love—it’s about awareness. It’s the place where emotional wisdom and spiritual truth meet.
Bridge #2: The Breath
Your breath is the most constant and quickly accessible bridge you have. It connects your mind to your body, allowing healing to move from thought into embodiment. Unlike other bridges, it’s always within reach—whether you’re sitting in stillness, moving through stress, or standing on the edge of change.
It regulates your nervous system, calming stress and releasing tension.
It keeps you present, anchoring you in the now instead of past wounds or future fears.
It unlocks the wisdom of your body, opening doors to insight and emotional release.
Breath is more of a conscious doorway to your physiology, activating the vagus nerve. When you choose to slow, deepen, or expand your breath, you are actively shifting the state of your nervous system. It’s the bridge you walk across intentionally, moment by moment.
In my breathwork circles, I witness this bridge in action every time. Breath shifts energy, softens pain, and creates space for truth. It is the bridge that’s always available, no matter where you are in your journey.
Bridge #3: The Waxing Cycle of the Moon
Awareness alone is not enough—you need a bridge to action. That’s where the waxing cycle of the moon comes in.
Traditionally, the moon’s trio is:
🌑 New Moon – Seed
🌕 Full Moon – Illumination
🌘 Waning Moon – Release
This trinity captures the arc of intention, manifestation, and surrender. But where does that leave the Waxing Moon—the days of action, stretch, and growth?
She doesn’t disappear.
She becomes the bridge between dreaming and doing.
Awareness is information—the noticing, the reflection, the “I see it now.” We gain this knowledge throughout the cycle, simply by living. But the waxing moon turns awareness into attunement. It’s the inspired doing that creates change.
This phase is about movement—taking small, meaningful steps that transform reflection into reality. In Wild Moon Healing, the waxing cycle is where you cross from simply knowing into truly becoming.
Bridge #4: The Trust Bridge
The trust bridge follows the guidance of "As Above, So Below, Also Within," so there are three levels.

Trust in the Earth
Not just trust in nature, but trust in your nature. Trust in your roots. Trust that you have a right to be here, alive, with purpose.
Trust in Myself
The heart may be the central bridge, but heart-level trust is about believing in yourself. Trusting your choices, emotions, intuition, and gut as guiding truths.
Trust in the Divine
Trust in something greater than yourself—whatever words you use to describe it. Recognizing that we are spiritual beings and nurturing that truth.
When all three levels of trust align, you realize how much you matter. You understand that your time is sacred and your energy is precious. Trust naturally opens your heart, deepens your breath, and connects you to the cycles of the moon.
Bridge #5: The Vagus Nerve
The vagus nerve is the hidden bridge that carries healing into the body automatically behind the scenes. It’s often called the “wandering nerve” because it travels from your brain through your heart, lungs, and gut, touching almost every organ along the way.
Why is this bridge important in healing? Because your vagus nerve is the gateway to the parasympathetic nervous system—the state of rest, repair, and healing.
When the vagus nerve is activated, your heart rate steadies, your breath deepens, and your nervous system softens.
It acts as the communication highway, telling your brain, “You are safe.”
It allows your body to return to balance so that true healing can unfold.
While breath is a bridge you consciously choose, the vagus nerve is an automatic response that bridges your choices into every cell of your body. Practices such as breathwork, meditation, sound healing, and Reiki naturally stimulate the vagus nerve, strengthening its tone and enhancing your ability to remain grounded in peace.
In Wild Moon Healing, I see the vagus nerve as the bridge of embodiment—where all the other bridges (heart, breath, moon, trust) come together in the body’s wisdom.
Why Bridges Matter in Healing
Healing isn’t about burning bridges to erase the past. You cannot undo who you’ve been—because who you are right now is made of every version of you that has ever existed.
Healing is about choosing the right bridges to cross.
The heart, the breath, and the waxing moon cycle remind us that bridges are everywhere—inside of us, around us, below us, and above us. They’re the tools that help us move beyond survival, into wholeness.
So I ask you: What bridge are you ready to cross?
✨ At Wild Moon Healers, I guide people across these bridges —through breathwork, Reiki, meditation, sound, and the wisdom of the lunar cycles. Together, we find the rhythm of your healing and reconnect you with your truth.
