The Hardest Truth About Healing: They Were Never Going to Say It

I don’t think we talk enough about the one voice that can override every other voice in the room.
This is the truth about healing no one prepares you for.
When “I’m Proud of You” Never Comes
Why is it…
that you can hear it from everyone else—
“You’re amazing.”
“I’m proud of you.”
“You’ve come so far.”
—and it still doesn’t land?
Because the one person you need to hear it from…
the silence from them
feels louder than everything else combined.
The truth about healing is this kind of hurt doesn’t just disappear.
It stays.
I lived my whole life like that.
People could celebrate me.
Encourage me.
See me.
And still… something inside me stayed unmet.
Because the voice I was waiting for
never spoke.

My Truth About Healing
My mom was that kind of mom.
Not cruel in the way you may expect.
But unavailable or absent in a way that shapes you.
I started mothering her when I was 14.
Holding space.
Managing emotions.
Helping financially.
Becoming what was needed.
And somewhere in that…
I stopped being the one who got held.
But I still hoped.
Even until the day she died.
I hoped she would say it—just once:
“I’m proud of you.”
She never did.
And my sister…
At a very young age, I wanted safety there, too.
The first thirteen years of my life were full of tragedy and trauma.
I was the little sister who reached.
But she was trying to survive in her own way.
So, a younger version of me learned something else instead:
Even when someone should feel safe…
they don’t always become that for you.
That's not their fault.
It's not your fault.
It's unhealed generational patterns.
The Truth About Healing
Here’s the part most people don’t say out loud:
You weren’t wrong for needing that.
You weren’t “too much.”
You weren’t asking for something unrealistic.
You were asking for something very human.
But healing asks a harder question:
What do you do when it never comes?
Because waiting for it…
keeps you stuck in a loop.
A quiet, exhausting loop that sounds like:
Maybe one day.
Maybe if I do more.
Maybe if I become enough.
And that loop?
It doesn’t end with them.
It ends with you.
If you don’t interrupt it,
it starts to sound like:
I’m not good enough.
I’m unlovable.
I’m unimportant.
I’m undeserving.
I’m a failure.

The Shift That Changes the Truth About Healing
At some point, you have to stop trying to get someone else to say the words you’re unwilling to say to yourself.
Not because they didn’t matter.
But because your life does.
You have to learn how to:
Be proud of yourself—even when no one taught you how.
Love yourself—even if it was never modeled.
Create safety—even if it was never given.
That’s the real work.
Not replacing them.
Not pretending it didn’t hurt.
Not rewriting the story to make you feel better.
But refusing to let their silence define your voice.
The Truth About Wild Moon Healing
The work I teach is about the truth of healing.
Not fixing yourself.
Not becoming someone new.
But remembering you.
Learning how to come back into rhythm with the parts of you that were never met. Because most people aren’t broken. They’re still waiting for something that never came.
And that waiting?
It fragments you.
A version of you stuck in time—
waiting… expecting… hoping…
Holding onto something that isn’t coming.
Healing begins
when you decide—
I’m not waiting anymore.

Sit With It
I lost my mom five years ago.
I know the pain of waiting for something
that never comes…
and never will.
The truth about healing is learning how:
To be proud of yourself.
To love yourself.
To create safety inside your own life.
Not because you should have had to… But because you don’t need to keep waiting any longer.
If you’re ready to look at the truth of your own healing, ask yourself:
Where am I still waiting for someone else to give me what I need?
What would it look like to begin giving that to myself… today?
You can’t force healing.
Trying to do so only deepens the disconnection.
When you see and acknowledge what you’ve been waiting for,
It won’t feel good.
Notice your body’s response.
Approach it with curiosity—
not judgment.
Sit with it.
Let it move.
Feel it.
If this resonates…
This is the work we begin in my courses.
You don’t need to fix yourself.
You need a place to come back into rhythm.
Awareness changes everything, so that's where you'll want to start.
You don’t have to keep waiting...
